The year is 3954.

The Earth was destroyed nearly three hundred years ago, when the Plague finally infected more humans than anyone could have imagined.

It all started in when the third World War broke out, and the countries were again sucked into the consuming business of battle. Industry thrived, economies both collapsed and exploded. At the end of the War, the communist territories took over China, Japan, Mongolia and other Oriental countries, forming the Eastern Communist Alliances. The ECA wasn't happy with the way the Western countries, namely England and the America's were handling things. So before they instigated the Fourth World War, the destroyed the moon with their new high-speed, low rad nuclear warhead.

It was because of this, and the following population boom, that caused explorers to go to Mars, looking to colonize the planet. Global warming had begun to affect the other planets, heating up Mars and allowing the icecaps to melt, allowing for a source of water on Mars.

However, the first explorers left things behind after the first visitations. Viruses, germs, microscopic organisms flourished in the new primordial soup they had found.

Nearly a thousand years later, and out came the plague, fully formed for its virus-eat-virus realm and ready to expand its horizons. Quite literally.

A colonist ship from the UK, the Kingdom Come, landed on Mars and the plague infected the entire craft. It crash-landed back on Earth and out came the killer, the leech-like virus only too willing to take over its new home.

The plague spread over the UK, and then onto Europe. From there it spread fist to Africa, then into the Asian states and finally to the now-panicking Americas. By this time, it was obvious that the only way to escape this mass-epidemic was to get off the planet and move to more hostile conditions - habitable to humans, and maybe not to the plague.

3590. The world is - quite literally - evacuated. 3600. The earth, after a ten year decision period - is destroyed in an attempt to curb the plague population.

3657. Colonists arrive at Ganymede. An Artificial Atmosphere is set up, along with the natural atmosphere of Ganymede, oxygen is added into the already high oxygen content, geothermal heating is set in place, the underground oceans of Ganymede affected by the push and pull of Jupiter, allowing for tides.

3783. The BioMob has been formed, a large corrupt system of technological terrorists. The leader realizes that by using the plague - more insect-like than virus-like, it can intimidate others and allow more power and money to be given to them. The other colonies on the Jovian moons of Callisto and Europa are putting up a resistance to the BioMob, but the Government of Ganymede has, under the guise of rejecting the BioMob, actually accepted it, harboring its men and machinery.

3954. Present day. The corrupt Government of Ganymede has all but abolished the Horizon - a group of neo-biologists bent on destroying the plague. heavy taxes are bent on those of the Horizon, and most have gone underground. The BioMob controls Ganymede, making it the most powerful of the Jovian colonies.

Most people, however, don't see it that way. The Horizon is taboo, the BioMob is considered a low-grade crime organization, the public unknowing of the large threat that it truly is. The Government merely turns a blind eye to the Mobs activities, hoping to reap the benefits from the destitute and plague-ridden colonies elsewhere in the solar system.

Will the BioMob turn on the Government that allowed it asylum? With the Horizon planning an all-out war on the Mob, will the Government stand up for the terrorists? Or will the enemy of the enemy become the friend of the corrupt? Join The Ganymede Colonies, and decide the fate of humanity.
